GPS Coordinates: Latitude 38° 0'36.29"N Longitude 7°52'26.29"W

The BejaParque Hotel is conveniently located at the heart of Beja in the Alentejo district of Portugal, just minutes from the city centre. Many compelling historical attractions are within walking distance, including the medieval Castelo de Beja, which offers an extraordinary view from its battlements.

Marvel at the diverse architectural influences as you meander through Beja’s cobbled streets, past traditional whitewashed houses and elaborate monuments. The Visigoth church of Santo Amaro and the exquisite Convento de Nossa Senhora da Conceição are within easy access and certainly worth a visit. Collections of rare artefacts from ancient Roman and Moorish civilisations can be found in local museums and archaeological sites. Bicycles and audio tours offered by the Municipal Council are a popular and active way to explore the city.

Beja is surrounded by the open plains of the southern Alentejo, which has long been considered the breadbasket of Portugal for its rich agriculture and arable land. For over 2000 years, local farmers have sustained the Portuguese diet with bread, wine and oil. Driving through the Alentejano’s famous landscape of olive and oak trees is a splendid way to discover the region.

Beja is located 80km south of Évora and about an hour from the Spanish border.
